"These Days" is a song by American singer Miley Cyrus featuring American rapper Drake and American singer Olly Alexander from the album MILEY (2018). The song was written by Miley Cyrus, Drake, Olly Alexander and Jess Glynne and was produced by Max Martin.

The song served as the second official single for Cyrus' second studio album MILEY (2018). The song peaked at number one at the US Billboard Hot 100, marking Miley Cyrus' third song to do so. The song also peaked atop of the charts in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, France and Brazil.

Background and release[]

After a succesful first run with the lead single Ready or Not, Miley Cyrus decided to release the second single two weeks before the actual album release.

She started teasing the song on Twitter letting her fans know she is releasing These Days as the second single and feature the big names Drake and Olly Alexander.

The single was released for digital download on June 7, 2018.

Music video[]

The official music video for These Days was released on June 7, 2018 and was directed by Hannah Lux Davis. The music video reflects on a bad relationship (played by Miley Cyrus and Drake). Due to this being the music video, rumors surfaced the internet that Drake was dating Miley Cyrus but those rumors were made false quick after a television host asked more about it when Miley Cyrus was a guest on the show.

As of March 2019, the music video has garnered 685M+ views on VEVO.

The song was promoted a lot within the United States, Canada and UK. With different performances on TV shows such as The Ellen Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, MTV TRL, Graham Norton, The Voice US, The Voice UK and many more. The song also was promoted at some award shows such as the Grammy awards and more.

These Days debuted at number three with 501,308 digital singles sold. In the second week, the song reached its peak of number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 with 603,466 digital singles sold, this marked Miley Cyrus' third number one single, Drake's eight and Olly Alexander's sixth number single. The song spent a total of six weeks in the top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100.

The song sold over 9,000,000+ copies in the United States and for that it's certified 9x Platinum in the United States. The song went on to sell over 13,800,000+ copies worldwide.
